About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Residential Property Legal Secretary to join our client's busy property department in Braintree. As a key member of the team, you will provide secretarial support to the property fee earner, ensuring the smooth operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the property fee earner, including screening incoming calls and dealing with new business opportunities.
  • Audio typing using digital dictation and maintaining accurate records.
  • Diary management, booking rooms, and arranging meetings with clients, solicitors, and other stakeholders.
  • Liaise with clients, solicitors, estate agents, and mortgage lenders to ensure efficient processing of new business opportunities.
  • Provide quotations, send client care letters, and deal with client queries.
  • Amend and reformat documents, apply for searches using online services, and complete stamp duty land tax forms.
  • Maintain client files, opening and closing files, and ensure the filing system is up-to-date.
  • Assist fee earners in maintaining client accounts and provide guidance to junior and temporary secretaries when required.

Requirements

  • Recent Residential or Commercial Property legal secretarial experience is essential.
  • Fast and accurate audio typing skills, including digital dictation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Able to prioritize and multitask, with excellent telephone manner.
  • Possess the ability to deal with client queries when fee earners are out of the office.
