About the Role

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cancer Performance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Cancer Services leadership team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective monitoring and management of Cancer Waiting Times targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Trust's performance against mandated Cancer Waiting Times Standards.
  • Report on compliance, identify areas for improvement, and work proactively to maximize performance.
  • Manage the administrative process for meeting clinical performance management targets for Cancer Services.
  • Identify the cancer information requirements of each Clinical Multidisciplinary Team and of the Trust as a whole.
  • Propose and develop systems and processes to meet those needs.
  • Work with senior stakeholders to resolve any gaps in performance.
  • Manage the administrative and clerical function for Cancer Services.
Requirements
  • Education to degree level, with a Master's degree or significant equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable and extensive experience of working at a senior level within the NHS.
  • Effective budget management, able to deliver value for money and track budget and investments through financial processes.
  • Experience of working in the NHS, with relevant experience in cancer services.
  • Experience of managing staff, with a proven track record of leadership and team management.
  • Experience of local and national clinical information systems.
  • An understanding of clinical information in the production of reports containing data, text, and graphical information.
  • Experience of multidisciplinary team working and collaboration with external bodies and agencies.

  • Excellent interpersonal, report writing, and presentation skills.
