Job Title: Principal Engineer - Support Engineering (Maintenance Design - Nuclear)

Location: Flexible working arrangements available.

Salary: Competitive and negotiable based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a Nuclear Mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA) team and broader Support Engineering divisions.
  • Ensure the technical precision of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) outputs, particularly in relation to nuclear operations.
  • Conduct reviews of Life Cycle Costing, Maintenance Task Analysis, and Maintenance Task Instructions, focusing on Nuclear safety and containment interfaces.
  • Define specific operational conditions required for task execution.
  • Identify essential organizational skills necessary for task completion.
  • Assess Equipment requirements and their applicability.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to the ILS team.
  • Facilitate collaboration with industry partners for specialized tasking.
Required Skills and Experience:

Essential:
  • Proven experience in the nuclear sector within a Mechanical engineering capacity.
  • Background as a Maintenance Engineer or relevant engineering experience in Submarine operations.
Desirable:
  • Previous roles as a maintainer, operator, or submariner.
  • Cat B qualification.
  • Experience in a Shutdown supervisory position.

This team is responsible for ensuring the technical integrity of all ILS outputs from a nuclear standpoint. They collaborate with various stakeholders to support significant programs and projects.
