Westlakes Recruit is seeking a Lead Nuclear Safety Consultant to join our team on a permanent basis with flexible working options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the principal safety engineering authority, offering insights through thorough analysis to enhance safety engineering effectiveness and the delivery of departmental objectives.
  • Facilitate the construction and commissioning timeline of the Reactor Plant by employing innovative engineering strategies and resolving challenges.
  • Ensure the preservation of Reactor Plant design integrity throughout the construction and commissioning phases.
  • Provide guidance and perform Intelligent Customer responsibilities concerning documentation, advisory services, and support offered to the organization.
  • Assist in evaluating modifications to plant design.
  • Assess the readiness of plant construction for progression into subsequent phases.
  • Deliver technically robust critiques of existing requirements.
  • Compose and present reports to convey nuclear safety issues to a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:

  • Degree in Engineering or Physical Science disciplines such as Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Materials, Chemistry, or Physics.
  • Familiarity with the nuclear sector and relevant Nuclear Regulations.
  • Prior experience with Engineering Lifecycle processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in justifying design modifications, preferably within a Nuclear facility.
  • Previous experience working in a Nuclear plant environment.

Desirable:

  • Strong technical report writing capabilities.
  • Effective presentation skills.
