Position Title: Nuclear Safety Assurance Engineer

Compensation: Starting from £60,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and drafting nuclear safety documentation to support site safety assessments.
  • Evaluating calculations and analytical work.
  • Assisting in the periodic evaluation of safety measures.
  • Taking responsibility for deliverables while demonstrating a high degree of independence.
  • Facilitating the implementation of safety substantiation requirements.
  • Collaborating closely with Human Factors, Site Safety Assessment, and Engineering Authority teams.
  • Providing mentorship to other members of the Nuclear Safety Assurance team.
  • Engaging with the broader organization on nuclear safety-related initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in Nuclear Safety or Safety Case Analysis.
  • Background in the nuclear sector or other high-risk, heavily regulated industries.
  • Ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Strong commitment to driving all deliverable-related activities through established processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable:

  • Broad knowledge of various engineering disciplines.
  • Chartered Engineer status from the Engineering Council and membership in a relevant professional organization.
  • Degree in a STEM field.

The Nuclear Safety Assurance Team:

Joining our expanding team presents numerous development opportunities in both technical and managerial pathways. The team is involved in the safety justification and design substantiation of various assets and facilities, covering mechanical, civil, structural, and electrical engineering. You will also engage in finite element analysis and simulation using state-of-the-art tools and techniques. Regular collaboration with Engineering Authority, Site Specialist Engineers, and other functions ensures a diverse and enriching work experience.
