Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated medical professional to join our dynamic Urology team. The department consists of a diverse group of specialists, including consultants, clinical fellows, registrars, and trainees. Our Urology Department is equipped with a sufficient number of beds to accommodate both routine and emergency admissions, ensuring a high turnover of patients. The ward is supported by experienced nursing staff and triage nurses, providing a robust environment for patient care.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing inpatient care and delivering high-quality medical services to urology patients.
- Participating in surgical procedures and outpatient clinics to gain comprehensive experience.
- Collaborating with triage nurses to address emergency urology cases in our specialized unit, which offers valuable training in urgent care.
- Engaging in clinical governance and educational meetings on a weekly basis.
- Contributing to audit and quality improvement initiatives, as well as research projects in collaboration with the trust and affiliated academic institutions.
Professional Duties
The role entails maintaining clinical and professional accountability for patient care. The post holder is expected to:
- Keep patients and their families informed about their health status.
- Involve patients in discussions regarding their treatment options.
