Ashford, Kent, United Kingdom East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

An excellent opportunity has emerged for a Rehabilitation Support Specialist to become a part of our Inpatient Therapy Service.

The Therapy Team is dedicated to the evaluation and rehabilitation of individuals to facilitate their recovery and discharge planning. This is a permanent position, yet there will be opportunities to collaborate with our therapy colleagues across the broader therapy team. The successful candidate will assist Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in providing exceptional therapy services to patients.

Key Responsibilities

As a Band 3 Rehabilitation Support Specialist, you will be integrated into a Therapy team that includes Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, and Rehabilitation Support Specialists. The ideal candidate will be a crucial member of the team, working in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), under the guidance of therapists, as they endeavor to deliver high-quality care through effective collaboration.

Regular in-service training is provided by both therapy teams and other MDT members.

Our therapy team is actively engaged in service enhancement, and the successful applicant will participate alongside the therapy team in new initiatives, service improvements, and projects to ensure best practices are upheld at all times.

About Our Organization

We are among the largest hospital trusts in England, operating five hospitals and community clinics that serve a local population of approximately 800,000 individuals.

Our vision is to provide 'exceptional healthcare from exceptional people'. Our actions are guided by our core values: 'Individuals feel cared for, secure, respected, and confident that we are making a positive impact'.

We have introduced a new operational approach at East Kent Hospitals, termed 'We care'. This initiative focuses on empowering frontline staff to lead daily improvements. We seek compassionate individuals to join us on our journey of enhancement for the patients, families, and caregivers we support every day.

Applications for this role should be submitted by the applicant. If artificial intelligence (AI) programs are utilized, the application may be rejected, as this document is a vital component of the assessment process. However, applicants may seek appropriate assistance with applications if needed due to any declared disability.
