Accounts Costing Assistant

Location: Telford

Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

We are seeking an Accounts Costing Assistant for a prominent international manufacturing firm situated in Telford. This is a permanent role where you will play a vital part in the financial operations of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and input monthly management account journals for designated business accounting entries.
  • Conduct reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • Reconcile gross sales, net sales, and costs from the system to reports on a weekly and month-end basis.
  • Analyze and report on stock valuations and provisions.
  • Monthly analysis of gross margins, direct variable costs, direct labor costs, and material variances.
  • Review weekly PI reports and investigate significant discrepancies.
  • Costing for new products and modifications to existing products utilizing a standard costing model.
  • Verify amendments to products and raise queries as necessary.
  • Perform external warehouse reconciliations.
  • Ensure that stock figures in external warehouses are accurate and address any discrepancies.
  • Lead the review and updating of standard costs at year-end.
  • Ensure all manufactured and modified products have a routing.
  • Guarantee the complete accuracy of BOMs/routings and standard costs.

Required Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess experience in a manufacturing setting and a comprehensive understanding of costing methodologies and variance analysis. Proficiency in MS Excel is essential, and familiarity with SAP or NAV systems would be advantageous.
