We are seeking an Accounts Costing Assistant for a prominent international manufacturing firm located in Telford. This role is a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and input monthly management account journals related to assigned business accounting entries.
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • Conduct weekly and month-end reconciliations of gross sales, net sales, and costs from the system to reports.
  • Analyze and report on stock valuation and provisions.
  • Monthly analysis of gross margin and associated variances, direct variable costs, direct labor costs, and material variances.
  • Review weekly PI reports and investigate significant variances.
  • Costing for new products and modifications to existing products using a standard costing model.
  • Verify amendments to products and raise queries as necessary.
  • Perform external warehouse reconciliations.
  • Ensure that stock figures in external warehouses match and address any discrepancies.
  • Lead the annual review and updating of standard costs.
  • Ensure all manufactured and modified products have a defined routing.
  • Guarantee the accuracy of BOMs/routings and standard costs.

Required Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess experience in a manufacturing setting, along with a comprehensive understanding of costing methodologies and variance analysis. Proficiency in MS Excel is essential, and familiarity with SAP or NAV systems would be advantageous.
