About the Role

This Transport Planner position is an exciting opportunity to join Hays DT - Midlands as a key member of the Logistics Control Centre team. As a Transport Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the daily execution of customer requirements, coordinating specialized transport services, and creating cost-effective transport plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate transport services using a Transport Management System and manual planning.
  • Manage drivers' schedules and ensure timely pick-up and delivery.
  • Handle logistics queries, respond to customer requests, and monitor events.
  • Address deviations, support freight settlement, and implement continuous improvements.
  • Participate in audits, workshops, and customer visits, and adhere to compliance regulations.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need some experience or knowledge in transport planning. Experience using a Transport Management System would be advantageous. You will also need a good knowledge of MS Office applications and a proactive, flexible approach to your work.

What We Offer

This role comes with a 12-month fixed-term contract and an annual salary of £26,000. As a hybrid position, you will have the opportunity to work from home and in the office. Following your training period, you will be expected to provide on-call cover for urgent queries.
