Salary Range: £30,000 - £35,000
We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Costing Assistant for a prominent international manufacturing company situated in Telford. This is a permanent position that offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the financial operations of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and input essential monthly management account journals for designated business accounting entries.
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct weekly and month-end reconciliations of gross sales, net sales, and costs against system reports.
- Review and report on stock valuations and necessary provisions.
- Analyze gross margins and associated variances, direct variable costs, direct labor costs, and material variances on a monthly basis.
- Investigate significant variances by reviewing weekly PI reports and stock valuations.
- Perform costing for new products and modifications to existing products utilizing a standard costing model.
- Verify amendments to products and address any discrepancies as needed.
- Oversee external warehouse reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure that stock levels reported in external warehouses are accurate and resolve any discrepancies.
- Lead the process of checking and updating standard costs at the fiscal year-end.
- Confirm that all manufactured and modified products have a routing in place.
- Ensure the complete accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and standard costs.
Required Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess experience in a manufacturing setting, along with a comprehensive understanding of costing methodologies and variance analysis. Proficiency in MS Excel is essential, and familiarity with SAP or NAV systems will be considered an advantage.
