We are in search of Bank Nurses who are enthusiastic and clinically proficient first-level registered nurses specializing in either Physical or Mental Health.

Mental Health Nurses should possess a keen interest in all aspects of Inpatient and Community Mental Health service delivery. Physical Health Nurses should focus on recovery rehabilitation, palliative care, or care for Older Adults within our Inpatient units for Physical Health.

As a valued member of our nursing staff, successful candidates will be expected to support shifts on an internal rotation basis, which will include both day and night shifts, tailored to your availability.

Key Responsibilities

You will be accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for designated service users, acting as the nurse for individuals with complex and challenging needs.

As an integral team member, you will deliver a high standard of individualized, holistic, and evidence-based patient-centered nursing utilizing the nursing process. Registered Nurses also serve as a crucial link between patients, caregivers, relatives, and therapists to ensure a consistent focus on patient outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to utilize evidence-based best practices and appropriate clinical expertise to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions to meet patient needs.
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality, patient-centered care and treatment that promotes the Essence of Care and Standards for Better Health principles.
  • Facilitate the setting of Expected Date of Discharge (EDD) through discussions among the patient, caregiver, team, and internal/external agencies to achieve a safe and effective discharge that closely aligns with the patient's needs.
  • Engage in quality initiatives such as the Productive Ward Project and Essence of Care Benchmarking.
  • Adhere to the Trust's risk assessment and risk management processes.
  • Follow infection control policies and procedures diligently.
  • As a reflective practitioner, actively promote reflective practice within the team, questioning clinical practices and taking appropriate actions where gaps in knowledge or experience may compromise the health and safety of others.
  • Assume the role of a link nurse.
  • It is a condition of your employment that you are currently registered with the NMC and it is your responsibility to maintain your professional registration.
  • Provide patients and their families/caregivers with information regarding the standards they should expect from the team.
  • Participate in relevant emergency preparedness processes for your team.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse (RN), Diploma of Education (Adult Nursing) or equivalent.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience working with patients with physical or mental health issues.
  • Experience coordinating a team of care staff.
  • Demonstrates professional curiosity.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a rehabilitation setting.
  • Experience working with older adults.

Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • A range of clinical skills.
  • Understanding of multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Knowledge of elderly care and principles of rehabilitation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
