Position Overview

We are in search of a skilled and passionate Lead Physiotherapy Specialist to become a vital part of our esteemed Integrated Learning Disability Service, which operates within the Lancashire region. This role is designed for a dedicated professional who is eager to contribute to the enhancement of physiotherapy services tailored for individuals with learning disabilities.

The LSCFT Learning Disability Service is expanding its Physiotherapy team, driven by a vision to elevate service quality and deliver comprehensive assessments and interventions for adults facing learning disabilities in the community. You will collaborate with a seasoned multi-disciplinary team, receiving consistent supervision and support from a senior physiotherapist specializing in learning disabilities. Our service offers a diverse array of physiotherapy assessments and interventions for clients who struggle to access conventional physiotherapy services, resulting in a dynamic and varied caseload where each day presents new challenges. We pride ourselves on our person-centered approach, employing innovative strategies to achieve optimal outcomes tailored to each individual's requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct assessments and provide treatment to patients in both ward and community environments as an independent practitioner.

Perform physiotherapeutic evaluations for patients with a range of complex physical and psychological conditions, formulating and implementing personalized treatment plans.

Manage a complex caseload autonomously, taking responsibility for a specific area of the service or a particular patient demographic.

Ensure personal professional development while contributing to the growth of colleagues.

Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of physiotherapy students to uphold the standards of practice and education.

Engage in evidence-based audits and participate in research initiatives, providing recommendations for service enhancements to clinical leadership.
