About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our busy and well-respected Integrated Learning Disability Service, covering the Lancashire locality.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary team, delivering high-quality assessment and intervention for adults with learning disabilities in the community. You will work closely with clinical colleagues from various professions to provide person-centered, evidence-based physiotherapy.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist physiotherapy input to the designated therapy team.
  • Assess and treat patients within a ward or community setting as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualized treatment program.
  • Hold responsibility for your complex caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working without direct supervision.
  • Ensure your own personal development and participate in the development of others.
  • Supervise, educate, and assess the performance of physiotherapy students to ensure the standard of practice and teaching meets the degree standard.
  • Undertake evidence-based audit and contribute to research projects. Make recommendations to clinical lead/manager for service improvement.

Requirements
  • HCPC Registration
  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • Evidence of CPD in relevant areas
  • Experience and ability to work effectively within an MDT
  • Evidence of clinical topic training/staff presentations
  • Evidence of supervision of assistant staff/students
  • Knowledge and appreciation of lone working risks
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Treatment of a broad range of conditions
  • Demonstrable evidence of improving and developing service/practice
  • Evidence of leading and implementing clinical change
  • Multi-disciplinary/multi-agency collaborative working
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Skills for assessing, diagnosing, and treating a range of conditions
  • Ability to prioritize a workload effectively
  • Effective IT skills
