Female Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Support Worker to join our client's care team in Fareham, Portsmouth. The successful candidate will provide personal care and support to a young woman with Cerebral Palsy and epilepsy, ensuring her needs and aspirations are at the centre of all care activities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with personal care and daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Help the client participate in fun and meaningful activities, both at home and in the community, such as baking, arts and crafts, and outdoor activities.
- Support the client's independence and help her make choices that enhance her quality of life.
- Provide emergency seizure care and daily physiotherapy to manage the client's Cerebral Palsy (full training provided).
- Work alongside the client's family and current care team to ensure she is safe, happy, and thriving in a supportive environment.
- A female Support Worker who can provide personal care and support to our client, ensuring her needs and aspirations are at the centre of all care activities.
- Experience working with young adults, particularly those with Cerebral Palsy or epilepsy, is preferred but not essential (full training provided).
- Ability to operate specialist equipment safely and effectively (training provided).
- Implement the Handling Management Plan to reduce the risk of handling injuries, including tasks that may require bending, kneeling, squatting, pushing, or pulling.
- Demonstrate empathy, understanding, and professionalism in all interactions.
- A friendly, proactive approach with strong communication skills.
- A compassionate, patient nature with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Create an inclusive environment that respects diversity and promotes equality.
- Maintain confidentiality and trustworthiness in all aspects of the role.
- Be comfortable around animals, particularly the client's pet dog.
- Collaborate with the care team, providing feedback and developing productive, professional relationships.
- Maintain high standards of care and adhere to quality requirements.
- Utilise strong organisational skills to manage daily tasks and documentation.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and be proficient in using IT systems.
- Flexibility to cover shifts, sometimes at short notice.
- Full driving licence (endorsements to be disclosed) and willingness to drive a wheelchair-adapted vehicle (training provided). A driver is preferred for the role but not essential.
- A competitive pay rate, including weekday day shifts (£14.12/hour), weekend and bank holiday day shifts (£15.30/hour), waking nights (up to £19.80/hour), sleeping nights (National Living Wage + bonus/hour), and overtime (+£3.00/hour).
- Enhanced pay for festive periods.
- 5.6 weeks of pro-rated annual leave.
