Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IBD Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic team at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading the IBD nursing team across our hospital sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective care plans for patients with IBD, working closely with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to IBD care, ensuring compliance with trust-wide standards.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based changes.
Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse with a degree or degree-level education.
  • Experience in gastroenterology, with a strong understanding of IBD pathophysiology and treatment options.
  • Proven leadership and clinical skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with patients, families, and healthcare professionals at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • GCP/Research qualification or experience.
  • Counselling course or experience.
  • Prescribing qualification or experience.
  • Working towards Masters-level education.
