Mental Health Social Worker

Location: South Gloucestershire

Compensation: Up to £35 per hour via umbrella company

A qualified social worker is sought to contribute to the Adults Services department within South Gloucestershire, specifically in the Community Mental Health Team. This role is offered on an initial contract basis for a duration of 3 months, with a competitive pay rate of up to £35 per hour, processed through an umbrella company. The position is full-time and will be based out of the Kingswood office.

In this capacity, you will report directly to the Team Manager within the Avon and Wiltshire Partnership (AWP) Trust Integrated Mental Health services. Your responsibilities will include assessing, planning, and, where necessary, delivering and evaluating services for individuals experiencing serious mental health challenges, as well as their caregivers. Collaboration with various agencies and services is essential within this integrated Health and Social Care framework.

As part of the integrated mental health service, you will operate under the comprehensive framework of the Care Programme Approach (CPA). Your role will involve acting as a care coordinator for service users, ensuring the effective coordination and implementation of support that fosters independence while adhering to the Mental Health Act, Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, departmental policies, and other locally established procedures. Experience with the Care Act is crucial for effectively supporting our service users. This team is dynamic and you will be expected to manage a complex and varied caseload.

Requirements for this position include:

  • Previous experience in a Recovery Team or Community Mental Health Team.
  • A relevant Social Work Qualification.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
  • Three years of professional references.
  • A valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
