Director of Operations - Manufacturing Sector

We are seeking a seasoned operations leader to assume the role of Director of Operations, directly reporting to the Plant Director. This position offers a unique opportunity to be a key member of the Operational Leadership Team, playing a vital role in the manufacturing transformation necessary to meet strategic objectives focused on growth and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute strategies aimed at achieving operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery, lead time, cost, and productivity.
  • Leverage lean methodologies to spearhead, develop, and coordinate lean manufacturing initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement aligned with strategic goals.
  • Ensure exemplary health, safety, and environmental standards by collaborating cross-functionally with the EHS team.
  • Oversee company KPIs, ensuring effective communication of targets throughout the organization; implement a robust visual management system. Utilize operational metrics to identify and analyze root causes of issues.
  • Engage in the New Product Introduction process to facilitate efficient and cost-effective manufacturing practices.
  • Promote effective communication to nurture a proactive and accountable operational culture.
  • Assess and, when necessary, implement changes to the manufacturing structure to optimize resource utilization and reduce costs.
  • Contribute to the achievement of budgeted orders, sales, margins, EBITDA, and administrative expenses as part of the Operational Leadership Team.
  • Identify capital investment needs and prepare justifications for return on investment.

Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in a complex assembly environment within the manufacturing sector.
  • Dedicated to a culture of continuous improvement, with the ability to shift mindsets from traditional practices.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the capacity to engage, motivate, and guide teams across all levels.
  • Proficient understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong personal credibility and presence, inspiring team members to meet and exceed performance targets.
