Logistics Operations Manager

This is a newly established Logistics Operations Manager position aimed at assisting the founders in managing multiple facilities.
Since its inception just a few years ago, this company has experienced remarkable growth, evolving from a single location to now operating across three sites, with plans to double its capacity.
Joining at this pivotal moment offers a unique opportunity to work closely with two highly dedicated founders who prioritize a strong company culture.
We are seeking a proficient Logistics Operations Manager to strategically oversee and manage the effective receipt, storage, value-adding services, and dispatch of a wide range of products in alignment with our company's policies and vision.
The successful candidate will ensure that productivity targets are met and that all logistics processes operate efficiently and promptly.
Exceptional people management skills are essential, including the ability to inspire, lead, and motivate a growing team, delegate tasks, and communicate ideas effectively.
The ideal candidate will possess management experience within an e-Fulfilment environment and have a solid understanding of inbound logistics, outbound orders, and returns management.
Key Responsibilities of the Logistics Operations Manager:
- Oversee a team of operatives, facilitating the daily operations of the facilities.
- Assist in upskilling and cross-training the team to maximize productivity.
- Ensure all orders are accurately picked, packed, and dispatched in accordance with customer service level agreements; this role will be hands-on, requiring active participation in order fulfillment.
- Conduct inventory counts and inspections, managing stock control effectively.
- Report discrepancies and raise issues with the senior management team as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, maintaining a tidy and organized workplace.
- Optimize warehouse storage by assigning locations for fast-moving and slow-moving stock.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience in direct-to-consumer logistics within a warehouse setting.
- Management experience in an e-Fulfilment warehouse.
- A keen attention to detail, as packaging requirements may vary for different clients.
- A commercially minded approach and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
- The capability to drive performance through an engaging management style.
- Some knowledge of HR and Health & Safety regulations is highly desirable.
A valid driving license is required as travel to other facilities may be necessary.
