We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual with expertise in ocean freight to join our team at Freight Personnel.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Receive and process customer quotations via various methods, including email and online portals.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers, hauliers, and suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare and submit customer quotations and proposals within agreed timeframes.
  • Work within our in-house system to create and issue quotations.
  • Communicate with customers to manage and follow up on quotes, analyzing feedback to adjust pricing and ensure opportunities are secured.
  • Track success and failure rates of quotes, reporting back to management.
  • Develop and build relationships with customers, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Produce strategic tariffs to ensure effective workload and keep them up to date.
  • Monitor carrier websites and notifications.
  • Engage with ocean freight operational teams to ensure smooth handovers of secured shipments.
Requirements:
  • Industry and operational knowledge of ocean freight, including inbound, outbound, and cross-trade.
