Position Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled Assistant Quantity Surveyor to contribute to our ongoing project growth. This role is pivotal in ensuring commercial excellence across various contracts and projects, safeguarding the integrity of terms and conditions, and providing essential guidance and support throughout the tendering, negotiation, and subcontracting processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor: Assist in the preparation of pre-tender estimates, cost planning, and modeling of design and implementation alternatives.
  • Contract Administration: Ensure compliance with contract requirements and adherence to corporate governance standards.
  • Cost Control: Collaborate with Project Managers on daily cost management activities.
  • Estimate Compilation: Gather pre-tender infrastructure estimates, including cost planning and design modeling to aid in tender submissions.
  • Monthly Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of cost inputs for monthly reports related to subcontracts and facilities, in line with project protocols.
  • Budget Development: Review cost plans from subcontractors and establish agreed baseline budgets in coordination with relevant project personnel.
  • Contract Negotiation: Assist the commercial lead in negotiations to minimize cost variances.
  • Cost Monitoring: Track and report on subcontract costs, man-hours, and future cost trends to clients and management.
  • Forecasting: Prepare future cost forecasts, including evaluations of subcontractor claims.
  • Claims Evaluation: Assess subcontract claims within the limits of delegated financial authority.
  • Project Forecasting Tools: Utilize appropriate tools to support project forecasting, including the application of Earned Value techniques.
Qualifications

Demonstrable experience in quantity surveying within a construction context is essential.
