Spire Healthcare Ltd is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Compliance Manager to join our esteemed team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance the hospital's health, safety, and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the Risk Register and facilitate the risk assessment process to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Gather and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety initiatives, aiming for continuous improvement.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and near misses, ensuring lessons learned are communicated and implemented.
  • Monitor trends and support initiatives to minimize risks within the hospital environment.
  • Collaborate with corporate departments to align local practices with industry best standards.
  • Formulate and test Disaster Contingency and Business Continuity Plans to ensure preparedness for emergencies.
  • Establish a culture of learning by sharing insights from health and safety events across the organization.
  • Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with health and safety regulations and report findings to senior management.
  • Ensure adherence to the Health & Safety at Work Act and related regulations.
  • Prepare annual reports detailing health and safety activities and compliance status.
  • Review and adapt corporate health and safety policies for local application.
  • Supervise departmental risk assessments and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Promote a high profile for risk management and health and safety within the organization.
  • Participate in relevant facilities projects as directed by senior leadership.
  • Act as the Deputy Fire Safety Manager, collaborating on fire safety initiatives.
  • Provide training and presentations to staff to enhance their understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
  • Maintain relationships with external organizations to ensure compliance and engagement.
Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong educational background with proven literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Relevant qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH, or a willingness to obtain them.
  • Experience in risk management or health and safety roles, preferably within the healthcare sector.
  • Familiarity with customer-oriented environments is advantageous.
