Spire Healthcare Ltd is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Compliance Manager to join our esteemed team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and enhance the hospital's health, safety, and risk management strategies.
  • Administer the hospital's Risk Register and facilitate comprehensive risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Gather and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety initiatives, supporting continuous improvement.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and near misses, promoting a culture of learning and safety enhancement.
  • Identify risk trends and implement strategies to minimize potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with corporate departments to ensure adherence to best practices in health and safety.
  • Develop and test Disaster Contingency and Business Continuity Plans to ensure preparedness for emergencies.
  • Establish processes for sharing lessons learned from health and safety incidents to foster a culture of safety.
  • Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with health and safety policies and report on performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act and related regulations.
  • Prepare annual reports detailing health and safety activities and outcomes.
  • Review and adapt corporate health and safety policies for local implementation.
  • Support department heads in conducting annual risk assessments and evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Maintain a strong presence in promoting risk management and health and safety within the organization.
  • Collaborate on facilities projects as directed by senior management.
  • Serve as the Deputy Fire Safety Manager, working closely with the Fire Safety Manager to uphold fire safety policies.
  • Provide training and presentations to ensure staff are knowledgeable about their health and safety responsibilities.
  • Maintain relationships with external organizations to stay informed on health and safety best practices.
Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong educational background with proven literacy and numeracy skills.
  • IOSH / NEBOSH qualification or a commitment to obtain this certification.
  • Experience in risk management or health and safety roles, preferably within the healthcare sector.
  • Familiarity with customer-oriented organizations is advantageous.
