As a Lead Safety Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating and enhancing safety compliance across our institution.
You will spearhead the implementation of safety policies, ensuring our campuses meet the highest standards.Fostering Safety Culture:
Proactively promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance through effective communication, training, support, and initiatives.
Policy Execution:
Direct the implementation of safety policies and procedures at the campus level.
Training Management:
Ensure a sufficient number of trained first aiders and fire wardens are present on campus at all times.
Collaborative Efforts:
Partner with the Human Resources team to identify safety training requirements and arrange for external trainers as needed.
Task Delegation:
Work alongside the Senior Building and Maintenance Officer and Senior Technician to assign safety-related tasks, including routine testing, inspections, audits, risk assessments, and managing incidents and near misses.
Software Oversight:
Manage the deployment and utilization of safety software/systems on campus.
Ensure all external venues and activities adhere to safety standards.
Performance Monitoring:
Gather, track, and report on safety performance metrics.
Issue Management:
Address compliance issues and escalate concerns to the Building and Technical Services Manager when necessary.
Provide assistance to the broader Building & Maintenance Services team as required.
A solid educational background, including English and Maths.
Extensive knowledge of safety legislation.
Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits.
Demonstrated success in implementing safety policies or procedures.
Proficient in utilizing digital tools and software.
This is a part-time position based on 18.25 days of holiday per year (FTE)

Candidates with relevant experience or job titles such as: Safety Advisor, Safety Coordinator, Safety Manager, Safety Officer, Operations Manager, will also be considered for this position.
