Job Title: Head of Year

Aston Education is seeking an experienced and dedicated Head of Year to join our team at an Ofsted Good 11-18 secondary academy in Lewisham, Southeast London.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and passionate individual to take a strategic lead in maintaining high standards and aspirations for our students. As a Head of Year, you will be responsible for leading the pastoral support for the Year Group, working closely with Form Tutors and other internal and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Raise standards of pupil attainment and achievement through coordinated intervention strategies.
  • Lead the pastoral support for the Year Group, ensuring the well-being and academic success of students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing targeted interventions.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement school policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • Good honours degree in a relevant discipline with relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience of holding a curriculum and/or pastoral responsibility
  • Experience and ability to teach your subject at KS3, KS4 and KS5
  • An outstanding classroom practitioner with an excellent track record of progress and results
  • Proven track record of raising educational standards and achievement
  • Understanding how to analyze and use data effectively
