Medicines Management Support Assistant

Cardiff, Cardiff, United Kingdom Cardiff and Vale University Health Board Full time

Position Overview

We are seeking to recruit a full-time Medicines Management Support Assistant to become a vital member of our dedicated team. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including delivering exceptional customer service at the pharmacy reception, assisting with the dispensing of medications for both inpatients and outpatients across diverse specialties, and providing support to the Medicines Management Technicians on the wards.

Qualifications and Training

Candidates are required to possess NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services and qualifications in Medicines Management for pharmacy support staff. However, we encourage individuals who are eager to pursue these qualifications, as comprehensive training will be provided. This training will include competency-based assessments. During the training period, the contract will be classified under Annex 21: 75% of a Band 3 for a duration of up to 12 months until the NVQ Level 2 and Medicines Management qualifications are successfully obtained.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a motivated, flexible, and adaptable approach to work in a dynamic environment.

While NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services and prior experience in a pharmacy setting are advantageous, we are committed to providing full training through our in-house development programs to the right candidate.

A good standard of education is essential, with GCSEs at grade C or above in both Mathematics and English.

Proficiency in the Welsh language is preferred for this position; however, applications from both Welsh and English speakers are equally encouraged.
