Position Overview

Charles Levick Limited is seeking to enhance its short-term trading division. The Short-Term Trading team plays a crucial role in optimizing the generation of Natural Gas and Power while maximizing returns in the intraday and day-ahead markets. This position involves working within a 24/7 operational framework, necessitating shifts that include weekends and nights.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Implement intraday and day-ahead trading strategies for electricity and gas across various markets.
  • Utilize market intelligence and analytical data to enhance profitability.
  • Continuously monitor live market conditions to identify and seize trading opportunities.
  • Mitigate portfolio risk through effective hedging and adaptive strategy adjustments in response to market fluctuations.
  • Engage with interdisciplinary teams, including risk management, analytics, and research, to develop and optimize trading methodologies.
  • Remain updated on industry developments, regulatory changes, and geopolitical influences affecting energy markets.
  • Participate in a 24/7 trading environment, covering shifts that include days, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in intraday and day-ahead trading for Power and/or Gas.
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities with a proven ability to make swift decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Familiarity with trading platforms and software for real-time trading operations.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, adhering to a 24/7 schedule with a variable working pattern.
  • A history of successful trading strategies and a consistent record of profitability.
