Job Overview
Charles Levick Limited is seeking a highly skilled Energy Trader to join our Short Term Trading team. As an Energy Trader, you will be responsible for optimizing Natural Gas and Power generation and driving returns on the intraday and day ahead markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute intraday/day ahead trading strategies for power and gas - GB, ISEM, IBP, NBP
- Leverage market insights and data analysis to maximize profitability
- Monitor real-time market conditions, identifying and capitalizing on trading opportunities
- Manage portfolio risk by effectively hedging positions and adapting strategies to changing market dynamics
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including risk management, analytics, and research to develop and refine trading strategies
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and geopolitical factors that impact energy markets
- Work on a 24/7 trading team (trading days, nights and weekends)
Requirements:
- Proven experience in Power and/or Gas intraday, day ahead trading
- Strong analytical skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure
- Proficiency in utilizing trading platforms and software for real-time trading activities
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners
- Ability to work flexible hours - 24/7 rota in place - flexible working pattern
- A track record of successful trading strategies and consistent profitability
