About the Role:
The University of Sheffield International College is looking for a Student Success Advisor to deliver both academic and personal guidance to a designated group of international learners on Economics pathways, facilitating their advancement to undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the College's Progression Team and will report directly to the Student Progress Lead.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored academic and personal support to a diverse group of international students, including Foundation students transitioning to undergraduate studies and Pre-Masters students moving to Master's programs.
2. Conduct one-on-one meetings to discuss academic performance, identify areas for enhancement, and offer targeted, subject-specific assistance for students who may be struggling.
3. Address low-level welfare concerns related to academic pressures, such as stress and sleep issues, by offering appropriate advice and support.
4. Monitor student attendance, identify those requiring intervention, and follow up with individuals who have received formal warnings.
5. Develop a comprehensive understanding of college resources and processes to effectively respond to student inquiries and direct them to the appropriate channels for more serious academic or welfare issues.
6. Facilitate workshops aimed at enhancing students' learning experiences and their adaptation to the UK higher education environment.

About You:
- Proven experience in providing academic and/or personal support to students or young adults in individual or small group settings.
- A degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
- Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- An empathetic and patient approach to student support, with an understanding of the challenges faced by university students.
