Role Overview:

The Business Systems Analyst II is responsible for enhancing operational efficiency by analyzing and documenting business requirements in collaboration with key stakeholders, including users, process owners, and organizational leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough analysis, modeling, and documentation of both current and future business processes.
  • Design and implement enhancements to processes and systems that align with Thermo Fisher Scientific's standards and industry best practices.
  • Prepare proposals for IT investments, articulating their value in both financial and strategic terms to leadership.
  • Optimize the use of existing business applications and technologies to fulfill business needs and maximize IT resources.
  • Perform data analysis utilizing queries and ad-hoc reporting tools to support decision-making.
  • Create and maintain documentation for application work instructions and training materials.
  • Deliver training sessions on supported systems and updates.
  • Provide ongoing application support to key users, addressing technical issues and collaborating with third-party vendors for advanced support.
  • Engage with users to assess information needs and functional requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and support personnel.
  • Adhere to the company's Global IT Policies & Procedures.
  • Lead various projects as assigned.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience is acceptable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products, with additional experience in cloud technologies being advantageous.
  • Capability to analyze complex systems and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Adept at navigating a highly matrixed organizational structure.
  • Extensive experience with ERP AS/400 (System i) and Infor XA (MAPICS), with a preference for 5+ years of experience.
  • Background in Discrete Manufacturing is preferred.
  • Experience with GxP regulations is a plus.
  • Ability to convey technical concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills, with a solid understanding of translating business needs into application and operational requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders in a complex environment.
