Job Summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking an experienced administrative professional to join our Maternity Services team as a Maternity Administrative Support Officer. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing comprehensive administrative support to the Maternity Business Administration Manager and the Midwifery Leadership team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys a dynamic and challenging work environment. As a Maternity Administrative Support Officer, you will be responsible for providing efficient and confidential administrative support, including diary management, meeting arrangements, and document preparation. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with the Maternity Business Administration Manager and the Midwifery Leadership team to facilitate a streamlined administrative approach across the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Maternity Business Administration Manager and the Midwifery Leadership team
  • Diary management, including scheduling meetings and appointments
  • Prepare and circulate agendas and papers for meetings
  • Minute meetings and circulate minutes and actions
  • Support with arrangements for meetings, training, and service visits
  • Assist with workforce sickness management, appraisal recording, and recruitment processes
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 4 in business administration or equivalent experience
  • Advanced keyboard skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience in a demanding environment and for senior leaders
