About the Role

Customs and Import Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Customs and Import Specialist to join our team at KC Recruitment. As a key member of our import/export team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth movement of goods across international borders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with national and international suppliers and agents to arrange freight deliveries and collections between ports, airports, and warehouses.
  • Keep clients up to date and deal with problems or delays.
  • Manage freight bookings using a CDS computer Declarations system.
  • Preparing customs documents for shipment.
  • Ensure compliance of various documents with appropriate standards.
  • Transfer documents to customs brokers.
  • Ensure technical and administrative liaison for the movement of goods.
  • Check that tax and customs documents are correct.
  • Work with national and international suppliers and agents.
  • Handle invoices and payments.
  • Arrange for the shipment of goods into and/or out of the country.
  • Prepare and process all necessary documentation including quotes, invoices, customs clearances, receipts, and other documents.
  • Track shipments and ensure the distribution of goods.

Your Profile

  • You need to have c 2 years of experience in the above tasks.
  • You will have come from a Shipping, import, export, logistics, transportation background.
  • Able to work on a variety of tasks until the job is done.
  • Good customer service experience. Be polite and patient.
  • Problem solver and able to work on your own initiative.
  • Car owner / driver is needed due to location.
