Customs and Import Specialist

Our client, a well-established and successful business, is seeking an experienced Customs and Import Specialist to join their team. With a strong background in international trade, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth movement of goods across international borders.

You will work closely with national and international suppliers and agents to arrange freight deliveries and collections, manage freight bookings, and prepare customs documents for shipment. Your expertise in customs rules, regulations, and compliance will be essential in ensuring the company's compliance with all relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with national and international suppliers and agents to arrange freight deliveries and collections.
  • Manage freight bookings using a CDS computer Declarations system.
  • Prepare customs documents for shipment.
  • Ensure compliance of various documents with appropriate standards.
  • Transfer documents to customs brokers.
  • Ensure technical and administrative liaison for the movement of goods.
  • Check that tax and customs documents are correct.
  • Work with national and international suppliers and agents.
  • Handle invoices and payments.
  • Arrange for the shipment of goods into and/or out of the country.
  • Prepare and process all necessary documentation including quotes, invoices, customs clearances, receipts, and other documents.
  • Track shipments and ensure the distribution of goods.

Your Profile

  • You will have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • You will have a strong background in shipping, import, export, logistics, and transportation.
  • You will be able to work on a variety of tasks until the job is done.
  • You will have good customer service experience and be polite and patient.
  • You will be a problem solver and able to work on your own initiative.
  • You will be a car owner/driver due to the location.
