Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager to strengthen our UV-curable business across Europe. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in nurturing existing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the company's strategy to develop within the European market, identifying key opportunities and challenges.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs, addressing inquiries, and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Pro-actively search for new customers in the European market, leveraging industry knowledge and technical expertise.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities, conducting market research and analysis to identify potential growth areas, customer demands, and emerging opportunities.
  • Assist with tracking sales performance, analysing key metrics, and preparing regular reports on sales activities and revenue forecasts.
  • Produce company presentations and assist in presenting to potential and current customers, showcasing our products and services.
  • Assist with the production of technical presentations with the support of formulation and research teams, highlighting the benefits and applications of our speciality chemicals.
  • Act as a brand ambassador at industry events, trade shows, and conferences, representing the company professionally, networking with key stakeholders, and promoting our products and services.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Visit customers, distributors, and suppliers as required, building strong relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
Essential Requirements
  • 3-5+ years of experience in B2B sales, technical sales, or raw materials sales, with a strong background in business acumen.
  • A strong background in Chemistry, with a 1st/ 2:1 BSc/ MSc from a reputable university, and technical proficiency in this area.
  • An understanding of UV-curable technology, including Photoinitiators, and some knowledge of raw materials and downstream industries (coatings, inks, paints, adhesives, etc.).
  • Ability to conduct market analysis, marketing, and sales planning, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High interpersonal competence and negotiation abilities, with the ability to produce and present client-ready presentations.
  • High proficiency in English, with comfort in technical terminology and documentation.
  • High proficiency in working with technology (laptops, phones) and Microsoft software (Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Proficiency with CRM and ERP software.
  • Willingness to travel around the UK and Europe to meet customers when required.
Desirable Requirements
  • Direct experience in the UV-curing market or a background in coatings, inks, or paints.
  • Masters/ PhD in Chemistry.
