Job Description

About the Role

Zest is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Sales Manager to join our Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support to our sales and bid team, ensuring that we deliver high-quality EV charging solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales technical support to colleagues, existing customers, and prospective customers, assisting with equipment, hardware, or EV installation design and requirements.
  • Take a technical lead role in reviewing and responding to RFP/RFI documents, ensuring that our submissions meet the highest standards.
  • Write technical specifications and make recommendations to support our sales efforts.
  • Attend customer meetings to deliver technical content and presentations, showcasing our expertise and solutions.
  • Perform proof of concept installations for customers, demonstrating our capabilities and building trust.
  • Conduct and take responsibility for the technical design, programs of work, and budget cost assessment, ensuring that our projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Liaise with the leadership team regarding operational concerns, costs, and time scales, providing critical insights and recommendations.
  • Take an active role in project and design team meetings, coordinating efforts and ensuring that our projects are delivered to the highest standards.
  • Quality assurance of designs, costs, and submissions with the sales team, ensuring that our work meets the highest standards.

Requirements

  • EV operational knowledge and a technical/electrical background are essential for this role.
  • Project planning and management skills, including the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent communication and self-sufficiency skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with attention to detail and the ability to influence and engage others.
  • GCSEs or equivalent, including English and maths, and relevant qualifications such as Project Construction/Management knowledge, SMSTS/H&S knowledge, and Electrician knowledge.
