Job Title: Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support a secondary-age pupil with SEMH needs in a secondary SEMH provision in Wigan.

Job Summary:

This is a full-time role, spanning Monday to Friday throughout school hours, requiring a calm presence who can support this child in and out of class, building a positive relationship and employing positive behaviour management techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support a secondary-age pupil with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis, including challenging behaviour.
  • Build a positive relationship with the pupil and employ positive behaviour management techniques.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to ensure the pupil's needs are met.
  • Have experience with SEMH needs and/or challenging behaviour.
  • Have strong behavioural management skills and be familiar with safeguarding protocols.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive daily rate of £83.85+ through weekly PAYE.
  • A full-time role Monday-Friday, paid on a timesheet basis.

  • An immediate start following registration with Teaching Personnel.
  • A good knowledge and understanding of SEMH and safeguarding required.
