Job Title: Recovery Team Leader

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recovery Team Leader to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Recovery Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our theatre services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Recovery staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. You will work closely with our theatre teams to ensure seamless transitions between anaesthesia, surgery, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Recovery staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Work closely with theatre teams to ensure seamless transitions between anaesthesia, surgery, and recovery.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve patient care and safety.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Recovery Department, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • NMC Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of theatre procedures and instrumentation/processes equivalent to postgraduate level.
  • Recent experience within theatres working as a registered practitioner in an acute practice setting involving the supervision/education of junior staff.
  • Healthcare leadership/management qualification.
  • Ability to travel across all Trust sites/services.
