Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Weaver to join our production team at our Bury site. As a Weaver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our textile production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor assigned looms for product quality, efficiency, and safety, and report any issues to the Continuous Improvement Leader.
  • Repair warp and weft breaks to minimize downtime and maintain production levels.
  • Flag looms for roll doff, knotter, and fixer requirements to ensure timely maintenance.
  • Ensure adequate monitoring cover for assigned looms to prevent production delays.
  • Complete downtime sheets to track production performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist with creel weft packages to maintain efficient production processes.
  • Maintain high standards of waste management to minimize environmental impact.
  • Empty selvedge waste drums as required to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Perform other tasks as reasonably requested by the production department to support the team's goals.

Requirements

  • Excellent health and safety practices and knowledge to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Computer literacy to effectively use production software and systems.
  • Reliability and enthusiasm to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and management.
  • Attention to detail and housekeeping skills to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and production targets.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with Lean practices is an advantage, but training can be provided to support your development.

Working Hours

The successful candidate will work a 4 on/4 off shift pattern, with two 6am-6pm shifts and two 6pm-6am shifts per week.
