Loom Technician

Job Summary
The Loom Technician will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of Rapier and Waterjet looms in the Performance Textiles Division of Milliken & Company. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot cloth and mechanical defects on looms
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on looms to ensure optimal performance
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures for tasks such as style changes
- Carry out Preventative Maintenance duties as scheduled
- Assist with major overhauling of looms as required
- Work collaboratively with the production team to minimize downtime
- Control the use of weaving spares
- Maintain high levels of quality, efficiency, and maintenance
- Ensure all loom settings are to specification
- Comply with Health & Safety practices and Company policies
- Ensure work areas are kept clean, clear, and hazard-free
- Report all accidents as required
Requirements
- Experience working with Rapier and Waterjet looms
- Excellent health and safety practices and knowledge
- Reliable and enthusiastic
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Able to work to given tolerances and measurements
- Organized team player with strong communication skills
- Keen eye for detail and housekeeping
- Able to work to tight deadlines
- Able to communicate at all levels
- Understanding of Kanban systems, standard work, and continuous skills development
- Experience following Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals
- Knowledge of weaving processes and Barco would be advantageous
- Experience implementing Lean practices would be advantageous

- Hours of work: Shift work – 4 on/4 off, 2 days/2 nights
