Job Summary
The Loom Technician will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our textile manufacturing equipment, including diagnosing and resolving issues with cloth and mechanical defects, completing minor repairs, and maintaining the highest levels of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve issues with cloth and mechanical defects
- Complete minor repairs on all looms
- Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are followed in full
- Perform Preventative Maintenance duties
- Assist with major overhauling as required
- Work as part of the production team to minimize downtime
- Control the use of weaving spares
- Maintain the highest possible levels of quality, efficiency, and maintenance
- Ensure all loom settings are to specification
- Comply with Health & Safety practices and Company policies
- Ensure work areas are kept clean, clear, and hazard-free
- Report all accidents as required
Requirements
- Experience and knowledge of working with Rapier and Waterjet looms
- Excellent health and safety practices and knowledge
- Reliable and enthusiastic
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Able to work to given tolerances and measurements
- An organized team player with strong communication skills
- Keen eye for detail and housekeeping
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to communicate at all levels
- Understanding of Kanban systems, standard work, and continuous skills development
- Experience of following Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals
- Knowledge of weaving processes would be advantageous
- Knowledge of Barco would be advantageous
- Experience of implementing Lean practices would be advantageous
