About the Role
The Loom Technician will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our textile manufacturing equipment, including Rapier and Waterjet looms. This will involve diagnosing and resolving issues, completing minor repairs, and maintaining the highest levels of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve issues with textile manufacturing equipment
- Complete minor repairs and maintenance tasks
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and Preventative Maintenance schedules
- Assist with major overhauling and maintenance tasks
- Work collaboratively with the production team to minimize downtime
- Control the use of weaving spares and maintain accurate records
- Ensure all loom settings are to specification and maintain the highest levels of quality and efficiency
- Comply with Health & Safety practices and Company policies
- Report all accidents and incidents as required
Requirements
- Experience working with Rapier and Waterjet looms
- Excellent health and safety practices and knowledge
- Reliable and enthusiastic attitude
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Able to work to given tolerances and measurements
- Organized team player with strong communication skills
- Keen eye for detail and housekeeping
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and communicate effectively at all levels
- Understanding of Kanban systems, standard work, and continuous skills development
- Experience following Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals
- Knowledge of weaving processes and Barco systems advantageous
