Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Supervisor who will oversee all electrical, control systems, and instrumentation maintenance operations across our facilities. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with operational standards and maintaining high levels of facility availability. You will also lead and develop a dedicated team of maintenance technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all maintenance work adheres to safety protocols, prioritizing the protection of personnel, equipment, and the environment.
  • Provide strong leadership, ensuring all maintenance staff are well-trained and competent in their roles.
  • Maintain facility operations in line with industry best practices, complying with environmental and legal standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the maintenance team to deliver exceptional service.
  • Assist in the recruitment and management of maintenance personnel alongside the Maintenance Manager.
  • Support the development of apprentices and succession planning within the team.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and prepare reports for management.
  • Deliver proactive maintenance services, coordinating preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Manage both planned and unplanned maintenance shutdowns effectively.
  • Oversee external maintenance support services as needed.
  • Collaborate with production teams to enhance operational efficiency and availability.
  • Facilitate compliance monitoring with external agencies.
  • Identify and implement operational improvement projects to enhance facility performance.
  • Ensure high standards in project execution and documentation of modifications.
  • Deliver maintenance services within an Integrated Management System (IMS) framework, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Focus on continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency of maintenance operations.

Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND qualification with substantial experience in maintenance.
  • Proven track record in a complex operational environment, such as power generation or industrial processes.
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems and PLCs is advantageous.
  • Experience with High Voltage systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP systems is beneficial.
  • Experience with integrated plant equipment in continuous process industries is preferred.
  • Specific experience with furnace/boiler or rotating equipment is a distinct advantage.
