Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Team Leader who will oversee all electrical, control systems, and instrumentation maintenance operations across various processes and facilities. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with operational standards and maintaining high levels of facility availability. Additionally, you will lead and develop a dedicated team of maintenance technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted following safe work systems, prioritizing the safety of personnel, equipment, and the environment.
  • Provide strong leadership and ensure all maintenance staff are adequately trained and competent in safe work practices.
  • Maintain the facility in accordance with industry best practices, adhering to all relevant environmental and legal standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Maintenance Technicians to deliver exceptional maintenance services.
  • Assist in the recruitment, planning, and management of maintenance personnel alongside the Maintenance Manager.
  • Support the development of apprentices and succession planning within the team.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and prepare reports for the Maintenance Manager.
  • Proactively deliver maintenance services, coordinating all preventive and predictive maintenance tasks.
  • Manage planned and unplanned shutdown activities effectively.
  • Oversee external maintenance support services and coordinate maintenance activities with production teams to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Facilitate compliance monitoring by external agencies.
  • Identify and implement operational improvement projects to enhance facility operability and compliance.
  • Ensure high standards in project execution and documentation of modifications.
  • Deliver services within an Integrated Management System (IMS) framework, ensuring maintenance activities align with environmental objectives and foster a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a focus on detail and quality, ensuring tasks are completed correctly the first time.
  • Recognize the financial implications of maintenance activities and seek alternative methods to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND qualification with substantial experience in maintenance roles.
  • Demonstrated maintenance experience in complex operational settings (e.g., Power Generation, Industrial Processes).
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems and PLCs is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of High Voltage switching and control concepts is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP is beneficial.
  • Understanding of integrated plant and equipment in continuous process industries such as power generation, cement, and petrochemicals.
  • Specific experience with Furnace/Boiler and/or rotating equipment is highly desirable.
