About the Role

We are seeking to appoint an Electrical Maintenance Lead who will oversee the execution of all electrical, control systems, and instrumentation maintenance tasks across our operational processes, buildings, and site systems. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with operational standards and maintaining high levels of facility availability. The successful candidate will also play a key role in developing and managing a dedicated team of maintenance technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with established safety protocols, prioritizing the protection of personnel, equipment, and the environment.
  • Provide strong leadership and ensure that all maintenance personnel are adequately trained and competent in their roles.
  • Maintain the facility in alignment with industry best practices and compliance with environmental regulations and internal standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Maintenance Technicians to deliver exceptional maintenance services.
  • Assist in the recruitment, planning, and management of maintenance team members alongside the Maintenance Manager.
  • Support the development of apprentices and succession planning initiatives within the team.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews of team members and prepare relevant reports for the Maintenance Manager.
  • Proactively deliver maintenance services, coordinating all preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Manage both planned and unplanned shutdown operations effectively.
  • Oversee external maintenance support services and ensure coordination with the Production Team to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Facilitate compliance monitoring by external agencies.
  • Identify and implement operational improvement projects that enhance the facility's operability and compliance.
  • Ensure that all projects are executed to a high standard, with proper documentation of any modifications.
  • Deliver services within an Integrated Management System (IMS) framework, ensuring that maintenance activities align with environmental objectives and promote a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a focus on detail and strive for excellence in all tasks.
  • Be mindful of the financial implications of maintenance activities on the operational budget.
  • Continuously seek alternative methods to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND qualification with substantial experience in maintenance.
  • Demonstrated maintenance experience in complex operational settings, such as Power Generation and Industrial Processes.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems and PLCs is advantageous.
  • Experience with High Voltage switching and control concepts is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP systems is beneficial.
  • Experience with integrated plant and equipment in continuous process industries, including power generation and petrochemicals, is preferred.
  • Specific experience with Furnace/Boiler and/or rotating equipment is a distinct advantage.
