About the Humanitarian Policy Group

The Humanitarian Policy Group (HPG) is a leading team of policy researchers and analysts dedicated to addressing humanitarian challenges worldwide. We combine rigorous research, independent analysis, and impactful policy engagement to shape effective responses to crises.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to lead HPG and drive its strategic direction. You will be responsible for shaping our research agenda, fostering collaborations with key stakeholders, and amplifying the impact of our work on global humanitarian policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for HPG, aligning it with The Economist's overall mission and goals.
  • Lead and manage a team of talented researchers and analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Conduct cutting-edge research on critical humanitarian issues, producing influential policy briefs, reports, and publications.
  • Engage with policymakers, international organizations, NGOs, and other stakeholders to promote the adoption of evidence-based solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships to enhance HPG's reach and impact.
