Reigate, Surrey, United Kingdom Intrum Full time

At Intrum, we believe in fostering growth through impactful contributions. You will thrive in a global setting characterized by a supportive culture that values effort.

Innovation. Technology. Independence. Drive.

Everything is set. Are you ready to take the next step?

We are on the lookout for a skilled AWS Cloud Engineer to enhance our operations. In this capacity, you will be tasked with the design, deployment, and upkeep of our cloud infrastructure utilizing Amazon Web Services, alongside other technologies as needed. Collaboration with various teams will be essential to ensure our cloud setup meets all operational standards.

As the ideal candidate, your focus will be on architecting and refining interconnected systems, employing your outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities. You will independently address intricate challenges, engage in technical discussions, and serve as a point of escalation for stakeholders. A comprehensive understanding of cloud services, identity management, and infrastructure is vital, as is the ability to navigate standard change control processes. You will be skilled in devising creative solutions before formal problem analysis. Strong decision-making and communication skills are critical for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure network architectures that align with business needs while performing infrastructure upgrades to enhance system efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Create and configure virtualized environments within AWS, deploy applications, and develop tools for deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of AWS resources.
  • Develop blueprints using CloudFormation templates for common workloads and create software components that interact with AWS services through AWS APIs.
  • Maintain, test, and execute disaster recovery plans, and automate processes using scripting languages (e.g., Python, YAML) to manage AWS services.
  • Commit to the FCA principle of Consumer Duty, ensuring we drive positive customer outcomes across all operations that could impact our clients.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in AWS Public Cloud development and implementation, especially in automation and serverless architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and coding within a production environment, ensuring efficient and scalable automation.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, YAML) and familiarity with version control systems.
  • Understanding of Azure and cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Basic knowledge of ITSM, ITIL, and continuous service improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in the financial sector, with knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, FCA, GDPR).
  • Preferred IT industry-recognized certifications.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey information effectively at various levels. A passion for programming, automation, and exploring innovative ideas for enhancing development processes.

What We Offer: At Intrum, we provide not only a challenging and fulfilling career but also:

  • Competitive Compensation: An attractive salary and benefits package, including 33 days of holiday (including bank holidays) upon commencement, with options to buy or sell additional days. Participation in gadget schemes and a contributory workplace pension plan is also available.
  • Growth Opportunities: Access to training and coaching for personal development and progression, along with employee recognition programs to support your career growth.
  • Health Benefits: Private medical insurance, life assurance, and additional health-related benefits.
  • Wellbeing Initiatives: Discounts on gym memberships, cycle-to-work schemes, and a 24/7 employee assistance program. Enjoy sociable working hours and complimentary breakfast snacks in the office.
  • Inclusive Culture: Our values of ethics, dedication, solutions, and empathy guide our daily operations. We pride ourselves on a culture that is open, supportive, and rich in diverse perspectives, making Intrum a welcoming environment for those eager to make a difference.
