Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Reliability Engineer to join our team at Willis Towers Watson. As a Cloud Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our cloud-based services.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with our cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our cloud-based services.
- Monitor and Maintain Observability Platforms: Maintain and configure observability platforms such as Datadog to ensure seamless monitoring and troubleshooting of our cloud services.
- Proactive Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor our cloud services to ensure stability, availability, security, and integrity.
- Design and Implement Automation: Design and implement automation and processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our teams and other support functions.
- Engage with Business Stakeholders: Engage with our business stakeholders to gather requirements, address concerns, and provide updates on projects and system status.
- Contribute to Service Design and Operations: Contribute to the design, build, and operational management of our cloud services.
- Lead Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to mitigate and prevent future issues.
- Participate in On-Call Rotation: Participate in on-call rotation to provide support and ensure system uptime.
- Solid Experience in Site Reliability Engineering: Solid experience in Site Reliability Engineering or a similar role such as DevOps.
- Cloud Experience: Experience of running 24x7 services in a public cloud, ideally Azure.
- Cloud Infrastructure and Services: Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and services, including best practices for monitoring, scaling, and security.
- Observability Platforms: Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog or similar tools.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with many stakeholders.
- Technical Communication Skills: Solid verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
- Previous Experience Working with External Clients: Previous experience working with external clients is needed.
- Experience with Post-Mortems and Post-Incident Reviews: Experience with conducting Post-mortems or Post Incident Reviews.
- Decision-Making and Ownership: Confidence in making decisions and taking ownership of projects.
- Azure DevOps Pipelines and Scripting Languages: Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines (or similar) and scripting languages, such as Python or PowerShell.
- Customer-Centric and Collaborative: Customer centric, passionate about delivering great services, and collaborative, enjoy problem solving and mentoring others.
- Azure Certifications: Azure certifications, such as Azure Administrator, Azure Developer, or Azure DevOps Engineer.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Tools: Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Pulumi, Terraform, ARM Templates, or Azure Bicep.
- Containerization and Orchestration Technologies: Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Programming Languages: Familiarity with programming languages such as C# would be welcome.
- Configuration as Code Technologies: Previous experience working with Configuration as Code technologies such as Puppet or Ansible.
- High Volume Web APIs: Familiar with high volume Web APIs.
