NHS Specialist Nurse

As an NHS Specialist Nurse, you will provide expert leadership in the field of alcohol issues, working autonomously within the guidelines, policies, and procedures of the service. You will have an in-depth knowledge of treatment available and communicate complex and sensitive information with clients, carers, local teams, and others, taking into account sensory and cultural barriers to communication.
Key Responsibilities Clinical- Provide expertise and leadership in the field of alcohol issues.
- Work autonomously within the guidelines, policies, and procedures of the service, using evidence-based practice.
- Communicate skilfully, tactfully, and sensitively complex and sensitive information with clients, carers, local teams, and others.
- Ensure the maintenance of up-to-date records on all clients according to professional and Trust guidelines.
- Work in conjunction with the Team Manager and the Operational Services Manager to ensure that all services provided are acceptable and accessible to diverse communities.

About the RoleThis role is part of the Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust's (EPUT) commitment to improving outcomes for dependent and harmful drinkers. You will work in conjunction with the Team Manager and the Operational Services Manager to ensure that all services provided are acceptable and accessible to diverse communities.
You will provide training in alcohol issues and Information and Brief Advice (IBA) within A&E and other appropriate departments, and contribute to the identification and support of patients admitted to hospital for reasons related to alcohol misuse.
You will also provide training in alcohol issues and IBA to appropriate clinical staff, including those in A&E and appropriate clinics.
