An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Senior Specialist Nurse to join our expanding CAMHS Eating Disorder Service.

Main Duties

The post-holder will be a qualified nurse with additional post-graduate qualifications relevant to the area, responsible for assessing and treating children and adolescents with eating disorders.

They will work collaboratively with other health and social professionals, actively supporting and liaising with agencies to provide therapeutic interventions for young people with eating disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. To deliver NICE guideline Family Therapy - Anorexia Nervosa, with training provided for the successful candidate.
  2. To support risk management in line with MEED guidance.
  3. Travel is required across sites in Essex.
Person Specification
  • Successful completion of a graduate training as a registered nurse with current NMC registration status.
  • Further professional knowledge gained through accredited courses, workshops, study, and in-house training programmes.
  • Experience of initiating, organising, and planning inter-agency meetings to set up a treatment package tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Experience of providing professional teaching and training for other professionals working with clients.
  • Knowledge of legislation and guidelines related to eating disorders and safeguarding procedures and policies.
  • Knowledge of NHS, Social Care, and Education structures, national policies, and frameworks, evidence-based practice including NICE guidelines.
  • Specialist skill in communicating complex, technical, and clinically sensitive information to clients, families, carers, and professional colleagues.
  • Capacity to write clear records and observe policies, procedures, and guidelines.
