About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic consultant to join our clinical haematology service at Leighton Hospital. As part of a collaborative venture between The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and Mid-Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we are pleased to offer the opportunity to develop clinical haematology services across the southern sector of the Greater Manchester and Cheshire Cancer Network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultant-level support to the development of the clinical haematology service
  • Implement best practice in Haematology
  • Manage three outpatient clinics per week
  • Provide specialist input into the care of inpatients at Leighton Hospital
  • Liaise with local General Practitioners for haematological advice
About the Team

The Christie haematology service acts as a tertiary referral centre for the management of patients with haematological malignancies and bone marrow failure. Our team is highly motivated and provides a supportive and warm working culture where your contribution is valued.

Person Specification
  • FRCP/MRCP or equivalent AND FRCPath or equivalent
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent
  • Experience in clinical haematology, blood transfusion, coagulation, and malignant haematology
  • Knowledge and appreciation of core legal, ethical, and political issues governing medical practice
